Hyderabad: FTCCI recently hosted a meeting with Musharraf Faruqui, CMD of TSSPDCL, focusing on pertinent issues affecting various industries. The meeting, held at FTCCI's premises in Red Hills, brought together 40 trade representatives from organizations like SICMA, TSTMA, TISMA, TAAPMA, TSSDA, AIREEA, and Energy Committee Members.
During the session, Faruqui highlighted the challenges posed by high land costs in Telangana, especially for large projects. He emphasized the upcoming New Energy Policy, assuring attendees that concerns such as open access power for new industrial units, amendments to Open Access Regulations, and time limits for permission grants for new units would be addressed.
Various other topics were discussed, including increasing Net Metering Capacity, obtaining wheeling permission for renewable energy, challenges faced by Sponge Iron Units in obtaining necessary permissions and NOCs for Waste Heat Recovery Boilers, and a one-time settlement for electricity payment dues.
FTCCI President Meela Jayadev urged positive actions to tackle challenges faced by power-intensive industries and developers, while FTCCI Energy Committee Chairman Vinod Kumar Agrawal requested Open Access to cheaper power and reduced OA costs through adjusted Wheeling charges.
Immediate past President Anil Agarwal also raised requests for permissions related to Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRB) installation and power wheeling between plants.
